PARADE BALLOON

I still can’t believe I got to make this! It was such a wild ride. It was about two weeks before Thanksgiving, and one of my Gnomon students calls me and asks if I would be interested in a gig that he felt I’d be perfect for.

I got to design and build this balloon. I started with dozens of sketches and many ZBrush iterations of what a stylized Dwayne Johnson could look like, then created the final production model with UVs.

Rigging, animation, rendering and compositing were done by my friends at GiantStep Studios for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2020.
